The members of New York’s suddenly-awesome underground rap scene aren’t exactly the most conventionally attractive group of dudes on the face of the earth, but they do know how to look cool. And the great New York streetwear designer Mishka has lately been releasing a number of excellent rap mixtapes like Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire’s Lost In Translation, which means they’re pretty deeply connected to this scene. So it makes sense that, for Mishka’s spring 2012 lookbook, they’ve enlisted a ton of the city’s best rappers to model their clothes, including Das Racist, eXquire, Action Bronson, and Detroit import Danny Brown. Check the gallery above and the video below.

The Mishka people aren’t exactly new to this; they previously used Azari & III and Fucked Up’s Damian Abraham as models. Also, they sent me a bunch of free clothes last month, which means I love them forever.

  1. damn that children of night song is good. I can’t find it anywhere though.

  2. Mishka has some decent stuff, but it’s too expensive…for me at least.

  3. Free clothes – sweet deal. i once got nintendo to send me a free wii classic controller because i downloaded super mario bros for the arcade and it said i could use a gamecube controller but the jump button was in the most fucking ridiculous spot so i called up and they were like “we’ll send you the right controller for free Don, we love you” and i was like “shut up baby i know it”. not the same but still cool.

    • I want to believe this is true so badly. Trying to play Donkey Kong Country with the GameCube controller is like eating a delicious pinecone.

      • this is a true story.
just call up those bastards, talk about the x-box motion shit and playstation and say “yo bitch, what are you going to do about it?” you can swear or not, it’s up to you. mention my name.
