You know who doesn’t play a whole lot of rock festivals? Louis C.K., that’s fucking who. In fact, the general-consensus greatest comedian in the world today never plays music festivals, presumably because he doesn’t have to. And yet he’s a new addition to the bill at ATP’s I’ll Be Your Mirror New Jersey festival, which comes to Asbury Park 9/21-23.

The rest of the bill is shaping up to be pretty fucking incredible. As previously announced, ’90s sleaze-rock heroes Afghan Whigs have reunited to headline and co-curate the festival, and frontman Greg Dulli handpicked Louis C.K. for the lineup. There are also plenty of other great reunions on the bill: The Make-Up, Hot Snakes, Scrawl, and Captain Beefheart’s Magic Band among them. And the bill also features the Roots, Jose Gonzales, the Mark Lanegan Band, Dirty Three, the Antlers, the Dirtbombs (performing their soul-covers classic Ultraglide In Black), Sharon Van Etten, Autolux, Thee Oh Sees, Emeralds, Factory Floor, Death Grips, I Break Horses, Vetiver, Quintron And Miss Pussycat, Charles Bradley And The Extrordinaires, DJ ?uestlove, and the Reigning Sound. So yeah, holy shit.
