Sophia Knapp

Into The Waves, the new album from the lightly psychedelic sophisti-pop singer-songwriter Sophia Knapp, enters the world today, and it features some truly twinkling sonics, as well as a couple of duets with the decidedly non-twinkling Bill Callahan. Below, we’ve got her Okay Video-directed clip for “In Paper,” in which the glamorous Knapp disappears into an animated watercolor painting and rides a crying cartoon cloud. Weird, pretty stuff, and we’ve got it after the jump, along with downloads of her songs “Into The Waves” and “Close To Me.”

Into The Waves is out now on Drag City.

  1. Into the Waves – simple and sparse, but the guitar and bass work so well together…..draws you in! Digging her voice reminds me a bit of Sophie B. Hawkins (don’t know why but it does!)…

  2. check out Okay Video’s other work :
