Bruce Springsteen - Wrecking Ball

Bruce Springsteen’s new recession-special album Wrecking Ball is out tomorrow, and it mostly concerns America’s widening gulf between rich and poor. Appropriately enough, then, he’s posted a Soundcloud stream of the entire album so that the poor (and the rich) among us might hear it for free. Stream it here.

And below, check out video of Springsteen and his E Street Band wrapping up Springsteen Week on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, following up on their great Monday night performance. On Friday’s show, they did the Wrecking Ball tunes “Jack Of All Trades” and “Death To My Hometown” as well as the classic “E Street Shuffle,” with Tom Morello sitting in on all three and the Roots on the latter one. And as a pretty amazing bonus, Fallon dusted off his note-perfect Neil Young impression so that he and Springsteen (dressed like a ’70s version of himself and jerking stiffly around like an action figure being waved by a little kid) could cover LMFAO’s novelty dance-rap jam “Sexy And I Know It” — a sequel of sorts to Springsteen and Fallon’s immortal version of “Whip My Hair.” Watch all those videos after the jump.

  1. Love it! Where’s their cover of Santigold’s song, “…” Um, wait, what songs does Santigold sing?

  2. I’d argue that he was dressed as 80′s era Springsteen for the open, specifically Born In the USA-era garb. Regardless, the open was hilarious and the version of E Street Shuffle gave me chills.
