Recently, DigiTech rolled out a new stompbox called the iStomp, which lets you select digital stompboxes and effects rigs via your iPhone and use them in concert with a physical stompbox, with the option to buy more digital pedals and effects via their iStomp Shop app. And we’re giving one away! To enter, you need be a fan of Stereogum on Facebook and comment with your favorite pedal effect (or favorite effects-heavy song? The sweepstakes ends 3/21 at 6 PM EST. Please check your “Other Messages” box in a couple weeks if you enter. Good luck!

Tube Screamer modded by Robert Keeley
MXR Dyna Comp
Fuzzzzzzzzzzzzz bruhhhh.
delay and harmonizer (cf “how soon is now?” by the smiths)
“Only Shallow” is my choice for effects heavy song, no question.
Delay is fun, but it almost feels like cheating
Loop stations, and reverb, and delay, and more reverb….
FUZZ COMBINED WITH A PITCH SHIFTER
Delay!
I think delay is probably my favorite.
bold arrow of time-tame impala
I bought a delay pedal just to try to mimic the Edge’s guitar sound years ago. Still can’t get it right :)
Chorus synced up with flange.
‘verb, for sure.
Big fan of giant reverbs, pursuing the feel of bands like Pink Floyd and Youth Lagoon the “Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail” really does its job.
Reverb. Definitely.
Fuzz
Any good stereo chorus will do!
DELAY!!!
I love the Z-Vex Fuzz Probe.
Delay
Dime Distortion RULES
Analogman Sunface Fuzzzz
Wah Wah!
A rotating leslie. Of course.
Big Muff
It’s gotta be the big muff. As much fun to play as it is to say.
Delllayyy sonnn.
My favourite pedal is the Boss RC-20, hands down. So useful it’s unreal! But FX-wise I’d have to say my Neunaber WET reverb… or any decent reverb. Can make things sound so much better, in moderation.
Overdriveeeeeeeeeeeeee and FUZZ
Big muff and POG. Failing that, whatever the hell Jamie Hince uses to get the sound he gets.
Purple Haze
I haven’t tried the iStomp Stompbox, but my favorite effect pedal is the Looper Effect. This makes so much good music possible, when you’re a lone musician!
Fuzz and then some more fuzz.
Distortion
Two words y’all. Big Muff.

Tremolo, baby!
my fuzz
Electro Harmonix Freeze
I love the lushness of a thick chorus pedal
I’m fond of multi-effect boxes myself, but narrowed down to one it’s going to be delay/loop — Akai Headrush and the like.
Distortion is still essential for my solos.
My current favorite pedal is my Foxrox Zim.
delay!!
Favorite effect is the Chorus
some type of delay for that added sound during some solos and during verses with picking parts
Delay.
My favorite pedal type is the delay
-=DISTORTION=-
Flangers are wicked!
Muff Overdrive. I can use it for almost anything and get a good sound, and it’s damn simple!
Favorite Effect? Can’t go wrong with an Auto-wah And favorite effect song? Defiantly You’re Time Has Come by Audioslave. Tom is the effect LEGEND!
I love a good Fuzz pedal and ANY Black Keys song for effects!!
I love the Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal. Mine looks like it was set on fire at some point. My favorite effects laden song is pretty predictable: ‘A Forest’ by the Cure. So much flange!
Compression and Fuzz.
My Roland GR-55 pedal! After that I would say my Line6 M-13 pedal……..
Ibanez Tube Screamer. The classic.
Favorite pedal effect would have to any kind of fuzz pedal that gives you a good boost on gain and overdrive!
Favorite pedal effect would have to be any kind of fuzz pedal that gives you a good boost on gain and overdrive!
cry baby
reverb
can’t go past a good ol’ wah!!
Snarling Dogs Blue Doo Overdrive. Kicks ass.
distortion!!
delay
space echo is mine.
Cry Baby…
ethos overdrive
Delay!
I’ve had a lot of fun with vibes and analog delays, but in the end, nothing compares to the dissonant beauty of a nice snarling, spitting, octave-scrambling fuzz.
