The legendary New York skronk-rap MC/producer and occasional Company Flow figurehead El-P hasn’t released a proper non-instrumental solo album since I’ll Sleep When You’re Dead in 2007. Since that time, he’s become something of an internet-underground elder statesman, and he’s seen his indie-rap empire Def Jux crumble. He’s now found a new label home, and his new album Cancer For Cure will feature collaborations with Killer Mike, Danny Brown, Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire, and Interpol’s Paul Banks. The album’s leadoff track is a ferocious piece of bent boom-bap called “The Full Retard,” and you can download it below.

Cancer For Cure is out 5/22 on Fat Possum.
