Guns N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction

Well, this sucks. Our best chance to see all five estranged but, amazingly, still-alive original members of Guns N’ Roses performing onstage together was this year’s Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony. GN’R are one of the bands being honored this year, keyboardist Dizzy Reed has said that all those original members would show up, and Axl Rose has refused to rule out the possibility of a reunion performance at just this one occasion. But as Blabbermouth points out, baldheaded Letterman buddy and Hall Of Fame musical director Paul Shaffer recently said on Twitter that the ceremony wouldn’t last too long because GN’R aren’t performing. There’s still time for everyone to change their minds, I suppose, but the frustrating continued existence of the the current GN’R formation isn’t likely to change anytime soon.

UPDATE: According to the Vice President of the company that produces “Paul Shaffer’s Day In Rock,” Shaffer didn’t actually write the Tweet. It came from a staff member at the company, and nobody’s quite sure how the ceremony will go. So maybe there’s hope? Probably not, though.

  1. Add to this, Frusciante wants nothing to do with the RHCP induction. Might as well call it the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Past Shame Induction Ceremony.

  2. Not surprised by GNR, but I am surprised by Frusciante. Even Jack Irons is showing up….

  3. Fuck GNR. They squandered their future and no one has ever produced a decent song on their own although Slash and Duff playing on Home by Iggy Pop is pretty awesome.
