Last week, we posted video of Julia Holter singing “Moni Mon Amie,” a hazy highlight of her hushed new album Ekstasis, in an L.A. house. Today, we get an actual music video for the song. In it, we see Holter singing the song in an ’80s-style corporate office where, from what I can tell, not a whole lot of work gets done.
Writing about the clip, director Yelena Zhelezov writes, “The video for ‘Moni Mon Amie’ interprets the song as a lyrical appeal to the unattainable other, and a conversation that’s being had with oneself. The longing transforms the perception of the everyday, turning each moment into a poetic landscape in which the miniature and the gigantic become interchangeable. Julia plays the subject and the object of desire in this video.” Watch it below.
Ekstasis is out now on RVNG.
