Time to Rank & File the biggest stories in our world from the past seven days — i.e., the things we would be talking about at the watercooler if we had a watercooler. An item’s RANK reflects a story’s size, while its BUZZ (thumbs up, or down, or both) reflects its nature. Scroll beneath the image for links to the articles referenced within.

  1. The Nardwuar interview with Grimes and Odd Future were both extraordinarily good. In case anyone is interested, the person who drew the intro (where it say Nardwuar over and over again) is Mitch Clem. For anyone who is into music, especially punk, I highly recommend you check out his webcomics and art.

  2. Nardwuar has been working his ass off lately. Props to him.

  3. Been a fan of Nardwuar since his early days on Much Music, good for him.

  4. Honorable Mention to Ty Segall for continuing to be a garage rock phenom

  5. Sigur Ros: So right
Flaming Lips + Vernon: Sadly so wrong

  6. I don’t think you can really say Nardwuar is just hitting his stride because he recently interviewed a few currently hyped artists, when he has in his back catalogue of interviews such bands as nirvana, arctic monkeys, bauhaus etc

  7. This list is a great idea but it needs to be text with pics and links to recent stories. Please get whoever codes the website to make it happen. It looks amateurish as it is and limits the clicks you’re getting. This site runs on ads I’m sure… you need those clicks.
