Aaron Freeman (Gene Ween) - "Love's Been Good To Me"

Aaron Freeman, who is best known as Gene Ween, will soon release Marvelous Clouds, his 13-song tribute to the poet and songwriter Rod McKuen. Earlier this year, we heard “As I Love My Own” from that release, and today we have another new track, the cascading “Love’s Been Good To Me.” Stream it below.

Marvelous Clouds is out 5/8 on Partisan Records. Freeman will play his first-ever show under his own name on 5/9 at NYC’s 92Y Tribeca, and you can buy tickets to that here.

  1. I was blown away by “As I love my own”–”Love’s been good to me” has left me speechless. I’d never heard of Rod M. before–I’ve been reading some of his poetry. A. Freeman has come up with a wonderful concept album idea here and his presentation thus far is second to none. I expected it to be wonderful. Now, it’s just becoming more than that. Thanks A. Freeman, you keep giving us true fans exactly what we want. This delivery is right on time. Thank you so much, David Morgan (Portland, OR).

  2. sounds like it is going to be a great album. only a few more weeks. This is like the peak of music this year, everything else that gets released from here on out will just be mediocre, til ween puts out the next album. Love mr. freeman, thank you, look forward to it.

  3. I know! I preordered my album. I thought it was supposed to be out April 10(my b-day!) but I am patiently waiting for it to arrive on May 8!
