Kanye West - "Theraflu"

Last night, Funkmaster Flex debuted “Theraflu,” a brand-new out-of-nowhere solo track from Kanye West. The track features DJ Khaled, and beyond his pitched-up bellowing and Flex’s tags and explosions, there’s a lot standing in the way of actually hearing the song. But it’s a seriously strong performance, all hard snarls over a bleepy late-’90s-style beat. And it also finds Kanye getting surprisingly personal, at least for a couple of lines, about his long-rumored relationship with Kim Kardashian. Listen to it at kanyewest.com.

Kanye’s also planning to resurrect his G.O.O.D. Fridays MP3 series tomorrow, on the actual Good Friday, by releasing “Mercy,” which will feature Big Sean, Pusha T, and 2 Chainz.

UPDATE: Kanye’s changed the name of the track to “Way Too Cold.” Here’s the new artwork:

  1. See, this is what happens when you try to follow up releasing two awesome heavy-hitters like MBDTF and WTT in the same year: nothing seems as good. And it’s not like this isn’t a good track, it’s just not “Devil in a New Dress” good.

    • Nothing is “Devil in a New Dress” good.

    • i thought the beat was hot – hit boy came thru lookin clean. a few good lines, other than the shit that doesn’t rhyme. kind of lazy, but kanye rapped with a sore throat on “digital girl” which came out b/w graduation and MBDTF, so the next album should be better than MBDTF which was better (slightly) than graduation both of which are equal to WTT which has no precedent and who am i?

  2. Good Friday has just become one big mp3 holiday for the music industry.

  3. I can’t wait for Kris Humphries’ reBUTTal.
