I constantly hear radio broadcasters casting barbs at Janet, in essence blaming her for the present climate where the government is taking a heavy handed approach to censorship. Strangely enough, I think that Janet will be looked at like Rosa Parks was back in the inception of the civil rights movement. Again, a black woman has taken a pivotal role in pushing back when the government has gone too far… (ok, so who cares that Janet pushed by accident)- the point is that she will be remembered as rattling the Christian right to the point of not being able to breathe, to the point of pressuring all the polititians and the President whom they seem to have in their back pockets to define what they deem as indecent and to push cultural evolution back 100 years. So, I like Janet’s bare breast being revealed to young and old alike, stunt or not, she was the straw that broke the camel’s back, at least the came’s lead around by small minded folks.
