i agree — def. some winners. i was skeptical after the first track but won over by “in the mouth”: malkmus’s “it’s what i want” under jigga’s beats is gold. the “zurich is stained” is really deconstructed, but it totally works — the coda of s.m.’s buhbuhduhduhduhduh’s is an inspired touch. of these four, i’d say it’s the most successful at being “a mix of bizarre lo-fi hip-hop, uneducated art noise, and humor.”

there’s actually a semi-decent mash-up of “without me” and “this charming man” floating around. my copy’s credited to “Philly Da Kid” and called “without this charming man.”
I like Pavement. I like Jay-Z. They should not be mixed. This is just tedious and boring. And I think the flux of people remixing Jay-Z should just end already. It was cute when it was White Album + Black Album = Grey Album. But at this point people who barely know what they’re doing are downloading the Jay-Z Construction Kit and suddenly creating psuedo albums. It’s boring and predictable at this point.
Please, someone create new mixes based on new albums and stop ripping other peoples concepts to the point that the idea is pounded into the ground.
