this song has been huge in france back in 2003. big radio stations started playing it circa march 2003. it was some sort of a summer hit.
one-t is a french dj who describes himself as such: “One-t is a slacker from paris. He plays hooky, smokes joints and critiques his bourgeois parents with whom he lives. He’s 13 years old and dreams of becoming a dj who subverts “french touch” musical trends”… this is from his website http://www.one-t.com
i have to admit that this is very lame. but the song sounded really different from what you could hear on the radio at that time. it has been a success in many european countries. “the magic key” is supposed to be part of a trilogy. i don’t know who the guy really is.
i haven’t heard a thing from one-t since then.
there’s a new one-t song up at ‘enthusiastic but mediocre’. not half as good as “the magic key”, though. anyone heard the rest of the album?
one-t is a construction, a fake 13-year-old rap character rather than a real 13-year-old.

Hi yep saw the video on mtv last week,what a tuuune!maybe some folks may find it way to cheesy,but i reckon its a fantastic piece of pop/rap,also the the video is very very cool,whats the real storey on Cool T,is he dead or is that just fiction.gotta get a copy somehow.

I love this song so much and i think the video is cute and a bit sad its soooo good and i have to do a essa on it and i can’t find anything on it because its all in german and i don’t think its good somone should write stuff about it in english and it should definatly come out in the uk it would be a huge hit! I always listen to it in my spare time and its nice to know im not the only one.
Stupid song I think, I can spit far better verses if some fool woke me up bout 5 in the mornin (if he still lived to hear’em)))
But that ain’t the point. I think it’s some kinda psychological sorta thing that people get attracted to it, maybe its cause of song’s simple structure and juvenile voice

I remember watching this video last year on MTV and i was really blown away, it was so catchy and the animation was cute and made a point at the same time. that was the first and last time i heard the song and yesterday i walk into a fashion boutique and they were playing the song! it’s pretty incredible, considering that i’m in malaysia. i didn’t get a chance to ask the cashier girl what cd she was playing, agh. i’d love to know more about the ppl behind the video and song…
