For some reason FOX picked up a mid-season sketch comedy series from Kelsey Grammer.

…TWO Mr. Show alums? Dunno. I guess it could still suck. But Stereogum <3 Mary Lynn Rajskub.
Also the brilliant Arrested Development was renewed, which should thrill the three of you who watch it.

I’m so happy they renewed Arrested Development. I wonder if they’ll bring back Carl Weathers. Apparently FOX <3′s Mary Lynn too. She’s funny (Girls Guitar Club of Los Angeles rulez!) but good god she’s annoying as Chloe on 24.
I guess I’m the third AD viewer. Best sitcom on network TV, hands down.

that kelsey grammer thing has paul f. tompkins. he was good on mr. show, but his stand-up is hilarious. he’s supposed to be at the marquee on bowery next tues. yay, arrested development. i believe they are gonna start showing episodes in june. not brand new ones – i think – just repeats and episodes that fox never aired from season one because the network screwed around with the schedule so much.
i figured that the mere fact of my liking arrested development, ensured its cancellation. what with my having rooted for freaks and geeks and all.
F. Paul Tompkins is wicked funny. And Frasier was a great SNL host back in the day so this might not be too bad.
I’ve been spreading the love of AD to everyone I know. I just converted a few pals in Chicago, and my siblings have been avid watcher all year. I think the Nielsen ratings dudes are monitoring the wrong households…thank god AD is coming back. Don’t miss the season one finale on 6/6!
Love the Mr. Show. Loved the pre-Daphne and Niles “doin’ it” Fraiser. Mary Lynn Rajskub. Excellent! She was awesome on Mr. Show and Larry Sanders. Ain’t the Girls Guitar Club defunkt nowdays…
Anyway.
But Arrested Development. Bleagh. It’s like eating some sugar-free candy a friend tells you will taste great. And no matter how hard you try to swallow it, it still tastes like a piece of crappy candy. Wanted to like it, but can’t deal with it’s whole tone and pacing.
