“Instruments are so over.” Really Björk? You don’t think you’re pushing it just a little? I guess I’ll reserve judgment until I hear it. Medulla features collaborations with Inuit throat-singer Tanya Tagaq as well as Mike Patton (former Faith No More throat-singer).

A few years ago my friend Adam turned his office into a Björk-shrine. One day Björk came in for an interview and the talent wrangler brought her into Adam’s office so he could meet her. There were photos of her all of the walls; I think she was a little freaked out. But she curtsied (cute!). Fortunately Adam’s not crazy like this guy who committed suicide on camera so he could be with Björk in the afterlife. In fact Adam doesn’t like Björk so much anymore.

If you ever get a chance to see Björk live, go! This was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to.

What’s with that album cover? I wonder if Nick Carter beat her before the photo shoot.

Medulla is available for pre-order at Amazon.

UPDATE: Kenny directs us to MP3s of

and Doesn’t sound like Bobby McFerrin at all!

a few of the new tracks were played on BBC radio a few nights ago.

it’s pretty good, i think? she is taking the “icelandic faerie ethereal pixie weirdo ~*~**~’ thing a little too far, though.

yes, that ‘do do do’ song is just a promo remix of some sort, not really an album track. thank god, its terrible.

Um, what’s up with the hair???
I haven’t seen other covers but this one should definitely draw attention.

  4. Um. Ew. Did I know that she feels really lubricated when she finishes an album?

  5. huh… i don’t know what to make of the new bjork tracks.
i think maybe she’s been spending too much time alone or something – i love bjork, but its almost too weird for me.

it’s cool the way the beads around her neck spell out the album’s name.

  7. Also impressive is her cleavage… she’s beginning to look WAY too much like one of Matthew Barney’s projects.

She did just have a baby, right? That would explain the boobs.

  9. I find that rolling stone article so very hard to believe. She has instruments in Medulla, I assure you. And what she supposedly said…
Lets just said it’s not truth.

i can’t wait to hear the new album.

  11. that is an odd photo

  12. Is there gonna be a photo where we get to see her nipples? I’d buy that. it just seems like the next photo in this procession had to be her topless, or maybe that’s just wishful thinking. She’s a unique one, that Bjork.

  13. i scrolled down too far and thought that her boobies were actually a bum crack peeking out of vinyl pants.

    eep!

I really liked Bjork when she was with the Sugarcubes. Her ability to pen music is questionable and if you took the word I and My out of her vocabulary, she’d end up being pretty quiet. No doubt she is a gifted vocalist. I like this new photo and think this eclectic style better than the whole geisha/spacegirl/dead swan dress-up she has done recently. I do agree with Kenny though…isn’t she getting a bit old for the pixie ethereal appeal? Well, it’s probably just her personality. Nothing wrong with being a bit out there.

  15. Don’t be hatin’ on her boobs, her hair and her appearance. The last thing we need in this world is more judgement of a woman based on her body.

Anyway, she’s Bjork, she can do whatever the hell she wants as far as I’m concerned, including beating up reporters <3

definately agree with giina. she has never bowed to outside convention or critique of aesthetics (her music or her appearance) so why judge her with it? i love a girl whos not shy enough to pick their nose and fart in public, its refreshing to see a woman whos confident with the fact that theyre organic and not a glossy sheet of paper. by the way im having trouble getting to those mp3s on the mac homepage, can anyone help me get to them?

Never much cared for bjork can’t wait to hear Mike Patton though, always interested in his vocal madness the combo should be good

Bjork is just full of talent and has followed her instinct to make the amazing collection of music she has created. No other artist NONE… mixes and experiments with sound like she does and until someone comes at least 50% close to her talent … then judge her until then… she is THE MOST TALENTED writer, producer, vocalist and innovator in the industry… Madonna tried but she got tired, she’s alright. BJORK is years ahead and she is a pixie no one that bright is human.

I absolutely adore bjork. she has the most amazing voice in the world.. one moment she can sound completely heavenly, then, she sounds insane! when i first heard, where is the line, i hated it, but i warmed to it after hearing it a few times. it’s deffinitely a lot diffferent to her other albums, but not suprising. i love it how bjork has made voices into instruments.. she is incredibly imaginitive, original and wonderful.
she doesnt write the best lyrics, to be honest. ‘your sweat is salty’ being one of them. but i dont care, because she makes the words sound so good.
i really admire her for doing all her own stuff, she might be seen as a bit insane for doing it, but give her a break, if she didnt come out with crazy songs.. then they’d be boring as anything..
