2) The Kills – “‘Fuck The People”
3) Sons and Daughters – “Broken Bones”
4) Archie Bronson Outfit – “Kangaroo Heart”
5) Blueskins – “Change My Mind”
6) Clinic – “The Magician”
7) Clearlake – “Almost The Same” 8) Max Tundra – “Lysine”
9) Four Tet – “As Serious As Your Life”
10) Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks – “Animal Midnight”
11) James Yorkston & The Athletes – “Banjo #1″
12) UNPOC – “Amsterdam”
13) Adem – “These Are Your Friends”
14) Hood – “The Negatives”
15) Elliott Smith – “The Ballad Of Big Nothing”

Scott, who hadn’t you heard before on the Domino record? Please don’t say James Yorkston, because I know Cara and I tried to get you and EJ to come see him at Bowery months and months ago…

  3. Hood are simply the best band around and have been for the past 10 years. Glad to see they’re in good company on that comp.

No, not James Yorkston. UNPOC and Max Tundra I had never heard before. I like that Max Tundra track a lot. Also I must get the Songs & Daughters full length. I tried to convince Cara to buy it for me.

    Oh, that sucks. Sorry.

  7. music (for robots) recently posted some stuff from “mastered by guy at the exchange” and a few months ago I wrote an essay for the next sound collector audio review on that record. great stuff.

  8. Franz Ferdinand’s “rare”(its been on kazaa for about a year) track is still for me the best thing on there. although it is closely followed by sons and daughters(not great live though =/), max tundra and elliot smith.
clinic’s song was also strangely good :)
