Exactly, even though I don’t care for Brit’s style of music, cut her some slack. I do admit she has let herself go a little lately. It is her life and she obviously lives it the way she wants. good for her. All the people following her around taking her picture and most of the people on this site prove one thing about Britney…. she still is a pop phenomenon. How long that will last is anyones guess. As of now she still is.
It’s good that Christina has causes. However, two things:
1) She doesn’t really do much for those causes. She may do a three hour photo shoot for a billboard/advertisement about the importance of voting, but that’s about it. Where are the hard hitting speeches? Or the voter education? Just jumping on a bandwagon doesn’t take much energy. And is that enough to really be considered “doing something” or making a tangible difference? Could it be surmised that she may just be doing it for some other reasoning… like promotion?
2) Christina talks about things she believes in… yes, it is true. But I’d like to think that many of the important feminists in the world (past, present, future) would be somewhat offended to be put in the same grouping/room with her. Sure, she talks about how it’s unfair that girls are called “whores” for enjoying sex. Good message–equality between the sexes is important. But at the same time, by dressing as she as a slut (as she used to and probably will in the future), she ONLY HURTS the very cause of feminism that she’s trying to promote. Wearing no clothing can be used as rationale by some men that women only are playthings and thus do not deserve equal respect as their male counterparts. For “speaking up” and “dressing down,” I’d almost rather deplore Christina for hurting the cause of feminism than applaud her.
Sometimes, saying nothing at all is a horrible thing. However, simply saying something does not make you a good person… or have clean intentions… etc etc etc.

Well, to answer Moi’s question about how i can observe that Britney has some fun things planned for us is obviously plain and simple.
