Sorry NARAS. Your little awards show last night was beaten by Desperate Housewives. Guess Ray Charles isn’t so hott with the 18 to 49s.

Anyway, who cares who won? Want you wanna know is … who wins cutest couple?

Not pictured: Kanye West and ego.

  3. Callmeatomic  |   Posted on Feb 14th, 2005

Gwen and her giant gloves, that’s who.

  4. Sarah  |   Posted on Feb 14th, 2005

Melissa Etheridge rocked and Alicia Keys sure has a set of pipes. Everything else made me cringe like I was watching a 4th grade talent show. Way to ruin one of my all-time favorite Beatles songs.

BTW…where was Nancy O’Dell in her Wendy Pepper original (Project Runway)??

  5. carolina  |   Posted on Feb 14th, 2005

Loretta and Jack they were so Funny on stage when she was telling him to talk and say his Thank You’s. That bitch is crazy. Peformence wise Melissa and Joss. Janis would be Happy!

P.S. Franz Fernindad was AWESOME!! It’s too soon for America you know us it takes us a while to catch up

  6. carlie  |   Posted on Feb 14th, 2005

If Jennifer Lopez sat on Marc, he’d be toast. Must suck to outweigh your husband.

  7. Why is Jack White turning into Axl Rose? Or Freddie Prinze?

  8. so_cute  |   Posted on Feb 14th, 2005

Loretta and Jack, so cute. But why did Gwen Stefani blindfold herself, dig through a garbage can of ripped-up gift wrapping and staple it to her body? You’d think she’d get better fashion advice from her gay husband.

  9. Chuck  |   Posted on Feb 14th, 2005

I wanted to like the performance of “Across the Universe”, I really did…..but I couldn’t.

  10. BeavisOnCrack  |   Posted on Feb 14th, 2005

I also think Quenn Latifa looked sooooo pretty. I just love her.

I am so sick of seeing Amy Lee in all black, and her date was fucking ugly as hell.

  11. Kanye is always the cutest.
    He & his ego win.

  12. that’s because the grammy’s are uber-lame. i was however sad to hear that ashlee simpson didn’t win any. she’s really awesome. ;p

  13. cnm72  |   Posted on Feb 14th, 2005

picturing Eve and Gwen rolling around

    hmmmm….

  14. jenny  |   Posted on Feb 14th, 2005

did marc anthony actually bother with shaving? I can’t tell.

I vote for Usher and his sunglasses as best couple. The sunglasses hid his tears well from being shut out of the major categories. I mean, he was beaten by Prince — a guy who is shorter than he is, obsessed with purple and didn’t even bother to show up.

  15. i thought jack white was ozzy osbourne at first…and second glance.

  16. “Across the Universe” was fucking horrible. I could tell people like Norah Jones and Bono were like “stop please, just stop” and Billie Joe was like “I immediately regret doing this”. But Bono pisses the hell out of me too, I can’t stand his ballad singing.

    Melissa is bald? Why?

  17. greeneyes77  |   Posted on Feb 14th, 2005

Amy Lee’s date was her boyfriend, and current lead singer of Seether, but even PEOPLE didn’t know that :)

  18. robb  |   Posted on Feb 14th, 2005

Jack White rocking one of the coolest ‘staches I have ever seen. That guy is my moustache hero.

  19. astralgirl01  |   Posted on Feb 14th, 2005

Melissa bald = she has cancer, must be going thru chemo. That sucks.

And the comment re: Gwen’s gay husband is Hee-Haw funny.

  20. Silvio  |   Posted on Feb 14th, 2005

When did Jack White turn into the guy from Korn?

  21. kenny  |   Posted on Feb 14th, 2005

    there’s nancy o’dell in wendy pepper’s dress…sort of.

i think loretta’s detachment and jack’s awkward yet endearing humble speech together win for best couple.

  22. Loretta and jack for sure, just because of the sheer insanity of the two of them. I loved Gwen stefani’s glamour girl captain crunch look. As a whole the show sucked, I think Bono needs to be slapped in the face and Usher deserves to be beaten with his own ice.

P.S. What the hell was up with No Doubt losing to Los Lonely Boys? Can we say one hit fiesta?

A 17-year-old Gavin Rossdale dated Marilyn: the new-Romantic drag queen and good friend of Boy George, according to Boy’s autobiography “Take It Like A Man.”

Loved Franz Ferdinand! I was in shock that they were being shown on American TV (it’s about damn time). Can’t believe they lost to U2 (what crap is Vertigo anyway, all their songs sound the same now)?!!!

  25. The Grammy’s are super fucking lame. I wish I could figure out how to post my views on my site at this moment.

Anyways. My fav moment was Kanye and his famous last line. I love his ego. He is hip hop right now.

I hate Queen Latifah. So annoying. She ruins everything she is in (movies, music, tv, anything).

Someone please check out my site and give me feedback. Scott, you never got back to me. Sup wit dat???

  26. About damn time Franz Ferdinand was on American TV?!?! Are you kidding me?! they couldn’t be hyped anymore here. Seeing them makes me want to vomit, I can’t take it anymore.

anyone know where to find videos from last night? more specifically, jack & loretta, the janis joplin tribute, and kanye’s performance with the blind boys of alabama?

jack and miss loretta all the way. they were so cute together. i’d love to see a reality show of them…c’mon vh1!!

anyhow, yes, melissa etheridge is the woman. i love her so much. she rocks and is just so brave and awesome for being herself, particularly during her illness. she shows that you can really be yourself and not be ashamed, y’know. anyway… joss stone seemed completely out of place during ‘piece of my heart’ which is fine because melissa is the champion and has been a longtime janis fan even trying to adapt a janis joplin film for many years now but it doesn’t look like that will happen any time soon. oh well.

i love how sheryl crow now uses her missoura accent. represent, girlfriend! her abercrombie bone looked good, too. i’m jealous! but lance is so great and was so funny in dodgeball…

also, funny comment re: marc anthony. today howard stern (or maybe it was artie lange, but i think it was howard) said he looks like mickey mouse on heroin!!! how true is that!

  30. we need more FF dagummit!!!!

  31. Samuel  |   Posted on Feb 14th, 2005

I think Bono sounded really good and Alicia Keys too. Maybe the ratings was really low because a certain girl named Britney Spears wasn’t there: thats the same scenarion that Rolling Stone magazine described for the MTV video music awards Vma’s is nothing without Britney. yeah for all Britney haters she won a grammy hah and don’t come with the argument that its because of her producers, dance songs is judged on vocal and instrumental.

  32. i hate to say it, but the wendy pepper/project runway design looks way better. the feathers look way better than the plain skirt, but regardless she looks like an overtanned hobag.

  33. I’ve asked it before and I’ll ask it again:

Hoe-pez, why in the name of all that is unholy did you marry GOAT BOY?

  34. Ellen and Portia…

  35. Rusty Hillside  |   Posted on Feb 15th, 2005

Janet Reno and Clinton’s Grammy statue.

Isn’t there any flack out there in response to Sweet Home Alabama being performed? On the largest music show, during black history month?

Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama” is often interpreted as being “racist” because of the the lyrics reference “In Birmingham [where a black church was bombed killing 4 young girls] they love the governor [George Wallace]” a segrationist.

To have a more indepth, Governor George Wallace was the racist idiot who called in the National Guard to stop Martin Luther King, Jr.’s historic March on Selma. It helped to raise awareness about voting rights for African-Americans and eventually led to the Voting Rights Act of 1965. LBJ actually had to have the army go in and oust the National Guard.

This is obvious to me, but why hasn’t there been any fall-out, or at least a discussion since its usage at the Grammys?

  37. Jlo was fucking hot! Ok, not really but it was just so entertaining. She should fucking do Broadway next! More dinner theater.

  38. Grimmone  |   Posted on Feb 15th, 2005

The “Across the Universe” moment was a real cheesy one. Was Weiland trying to be Bowie? And Alica Keys seriously annoyed me durring that I hate when a group of singers are singing and one has to do that oooooooohhhhh yeeaaahhhh thing while another is singing.

Gwen and Eve were cool. Melissa totally rocked and she looked as if she were having a great time up there. The mass up thing at the beging with the black eyed peas coming in and out was rather annoying. I was seriously hoping that Green Day would say something controversal when they won but they didn’t at least for the award that I saw.

And that I was all I saw of the grammys.

  39. papa-

    you’re an “idiot”

  40. heywood jablomi  |   Posted on Feb 15th, 2005

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  41. “Was Weiland trying to be Bowie?”

gosh, i thought the franz ferdinand guy was trying to be bowie!

and let me just say, eve looked hot. gwen’s style is getting a little too “sloppy” for my taste, but she still looked good.

    and i can’t believe j.lo’s voice crack didn’t get a mention.

  42. Courtney  |   Posted on Feb 15th, 2005

Jack treated Loretta Lynn with so much respect and admiration. They get “Cutest Couple” in my book.

  43. i think papa’s got a point–i wondered that too.

  44. Re: Sweet Home Alabama

Are you suggesting you can’t even tell the truth in a song anymore?

The man was governor for more than 20 years and when term limits finally forced him out the people of the great state of Alabama elected his wife governor. So obviously the citizens of Alabama loved the governor. That’s racist lyrics?

The next line of the song is “We all did what we could do” Sounds to me like the guys in Skynyrd weren’t real crazy about Governor Wallace. Sort of like blue staters today saying “Hey, I voted for Kerry.”

  45. tess  |   Posted on Feb 15th, 2005

Jlo and marc were really pathetic. They’re trying too hard to appear like the perfect couple but I just don’t buy it. I mean, Jennifer went from dating high profile, charismatic and good-looking men to marrying this average José called Marc Anthony. The guy looks so ugly. He’s short, skinny and looks like the nerd next door. Poor Jen, she definitlely has lowered her standards.
She went from perfect a 10 to a minus 10.She was about to wed a charming prince but instead she ended up with Kermit the frog. How sad….

  46. rob-i see your point about the song. the tribute still seemed a little ill-timed to me…

  47. Yeah, I have no idea why they chose to do it. No obvious link, but then again, it’s the Grammys.

  48. sweetpea  |   Posted on Feb 16th, 2005

damn, good thing I caught it in the beggining that was like half of the performances.
I’m glad Usher barely won anything( as opposed to other awards shows).
My highlight was definitely Joss & Melissa.
at first I didnt recognize melissa but she made that shit rock!

  49. that line is in respone to Neil Young’s Southern Man

  50. Adam  |   Posted on Feb 16th, 2005

Still no link to video of the mashup? It sounds hysterical. Please e-mail me if you find it.

  51. I just found this site. I guess I am going to have to start studying less and surfing more. I wrote a review of the grammy’s right after watching it and came to a similar conclusion.

    Carry On.

  52. Mirellarenee  |   Posted on Feb 18th, 2005

    Hey Samuel,

Did you know that Jennifer Lopez also has a Grammy for Best Dance Record? There goes your theory….

  53. Amy Lee’s date/boyfriend is not horribly ugly and black is her image. Her boyfriend is the lead singer of Seether and they toured together and did the song “Broken”. When she sang at the Grammy’s last year,I believe that her dress was white. When she presented that award to Loretta Lynn, she was wearing a white dress with black lace-like things. Grr. Go pick on someone who actually deserves it and is not portraying their image.

  54. Sergio  |   Posted on Feb 24th, 2005

    Melissa so rocked out!

Who was that annoying useless girl trying to sing with Melissa?
