i love grandaddy too but i’m not a big fan of furries and happiness. it was however a pretty good video for what it is. It reminded me of the song “Happiness Pie” from the kids in the hall movie “Brain Candy”.
Grandaddy is a fine band, but I’ve noticed a disturbing trend in that their videos seem to continually borrow liberally from domain that seems to be well staked out by The Flaming Lips. A while ago they released the song Now Its On which featured a video involving a lot of things wrapped in christmas lights which echoed of the Lips video for Turn It On (also notice the similarity in the title). This most recent video involves people dancing around in animal costumes, a well-known feature of Flaming Lips live performances and recent videos. I’m not trying to shit on Grandaddy, and I realize that nobody has patents on christmas lights and furries, but nobody can possibly hope to pull off the Lips schtick quite like Wayne Coyne and company, so why try?
After seeing the CSI ep all about furries (“Fur and Loathing” — all hail Jerry Stahl, whose CSI eps are always filled with deviant sex and/or drugs), I really couldn’t watch this video without feeling a little squick.
That made my day. However I have a strange desire to hug a tree or a fish.

EEEEE HEEEE HEEE HEEEE!!! That made me giggle with foolish glee. Might even be better than the Bjork cute/creepy cat video you posted awhile back.

uhhh no, that song was cheesy. If you want a great video with breakdancing furry types, try DJ Format: http://www.ruben.fm/format.html
maybe they’ll have a kickball game against animal collective.
this song was a let down for me. repetition isn’t always good.
