Yay! New Spoon and I luv it so.

  4. thanks, good song!

  5. Just chiming in to say YES. YES because I love Spoon and YES because I too will see Spoon live in the near future. So near I can see it charging at me a hundred miles an hour. Next wednesday, supporting Interpol, Dublin, Ireland, Spoon and me all the way at the back of the venue. Doesn’t matter, though. That’s where all of the sound gets caught. OH YES.

For anyone else here who has heard the rest of the album what do you think? It’s funny this is the single because it’s the only eventful moment on the album basically. Every other song on the album is just verse verse, no chorus of hooks. I am dissapointed…major let down from kill the moonlight. No dynamics!

    Great song, thanks Stereogum.

I would strongly disagree, Devin. Camera catches you initially. It grabs you and pulls you in close (like the shadowy man in the Le TIGRE blog ad next to the comment box). But it’s the “My Mathematical Mind,” the “Sister Jack,” the “Was It You” > “They Never Got You” that comprise the fabric of the brown track jacket that keeps you, brownhaired model in pink bikini bottom, warm and full of escstatic glee.

P.s. escstatic means ecstasy so complete that the whole of your being transcends, that is escapes, the here and now. The waves crash loudly behind you, yet you cannot hear them. You are there. It is you.

I also like the first track.

This is definatly the best song on the album… the album as a whole is quite a decent listen tho

i’m only 1 minute into ‘i turn my camera on’ and i bloody love it. Cheers!

  12. Devin, i totally disagree with you. At first listen i was a bit upset but now i’ve listened to that album more times in 2.5 weeks than anyone should in their entire lives and i still rather listen to it than anything else on my ipod. My Mathematical Mind is pure Spoon, especially the beginning when Britt OOOOOHS, and I Summon You makes me want to cry EVERYTIME i hear it, it’s probably my third favorite Spoon song in their entire catalog, and that’s saying a lot :P

alright, alright…I will give it another listen…I guess the fact i didn’t hate it on first listen may make it grow on me.

  14. I went to listen to it expectin that it’s another boring theme. ut it surprised me in a good way.
