Stereogum-fave Annie is playing her first US show ever this week.
THU 4/14 @ Tribeca Grand
It’s free. She’s also DJing at Misshapes.
SAT 4/16 @ Luke & Leroys
Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise I’ll be out of town. These events are going to be fuckingpacked. If you like Annie and Bloc Party (and Boredoms and Kano), read Vice: Behind The Label (link via Brooklyn Vegan).

That guy is my hero.
Ah, Vice magazine: Advertising many brands of clothing no-one outside of New York has EVER heard of!!
PS. Anniemal is new? I picked it up at the Times Square Virgin Megastore back in February. (Import, obvs.)
Is it just me or does that cop to the right look really blazed?
speakin of wine and cheese indie yuppi assholes: the national. they fucking suck live AND in person. total assholes. huge egomaniac jerks.
i think he’s kinda sexy
Ah Vice, dictating to hipsters everywhere their special blend of what’s cool, which includes $100 t-shirts and mountain dew ads apparently. $100 T-shirts are so punk rock. Dig That Annie CD though.
Man, Elkland might be the very worst lyricists ever. EVER! (but the music’s not bad)
Are you kidding? Elkland fucking blows. Have you seen the video for the first single?

Hurtbags.
love the new national cd.
Uh, I’d like to say that Elkland are terrific lyricists. I mean, common, they do not have to rely on the same-o same-o gutter sex lyrics that are the only thing that make other bands famous. To write songs that speak of the purity of love such as Abandon, We Share A Heart, Night Cranes, and Apart shows great talent and explain why Elkland are making a 10 year 6 figure income. Elkland does not prostitute themselves. They also do not have to be gay to make it in a predominately gay style of music.
