Greg The BF writes in, “So I know you’ve heard a couple songs, but if you don’t have the album, you are a fool. The clap your hands say yeah album is much more than the sum of its parts. Songs I disliked in mp3 form carry a weight on the album as a whole and it is a highly satisying album that will be enjoyed from beginning to end.”

Ask the DJ to spin Pixies’ “Theme From NARC.”

Back in 2005 Clap Your Hands Say Yeah were an internet sensation, with their music passed on internationally by bloggers and social networks. It was clear when Alec Ounsworth's five-piece band took the stage on Tuesday that no stylists or controlling A&R ...

Ghostland observatory is amazing live. SO much fun.

  2. It was only a matter of time before CYHSY appeared on Stereogum. Now the world is complete.

Seriosuly, this is turning out to be quite the “-show-not-be-missed.

The Fame is absolutely horrible. They sound like Rick Springfield, but worse. Lead singer is cute though.

I actually have reservations about CYHSY live, but I think the album is so damn good. I can’t stop listening to it. But ignore my reservations and go support them so that someday I can have a second album to listen to when I finally tire of this one. And no matter what you think of them live, buy the goddamn album. You will listen to it non-stop. Even if you’ve heard the mp3′s floating around and are only so-so on them. The album is so much better than that.

  7. Man, that ‘Theme From NARC’ brings back some old video arcade memories. (“You’re busted!”)

Seek ye out Midway Arcade Treasures 2 on all platforms for a bit o’ nostalgia.

  8. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah were on Stereogum a few months back when Scott posted a link to “Tidal Wave.”

  9. Clap Your hands were pretty good last night, but both Man In Gray and Ghostland Observatory delivered bolder, more interesting sets.

I bought the Clap Your Hands Say Yeah LP direct from their website, on the strength of 2 MP3′s I found recently. The album arrived today (I am in Australia) and I absolutely love it.

Please support these artists and buy their album if you like the MP3′s….

I’m glad pitchfork liked it as well. its really damn good. I hope Bowie listened to the album and didn’t just judge them on their lackluster live show.
