This one showed up in the non-gum inbox and I loved it right away- Professor Murder is like a mix of Refused (I get a “Trench”-era Liars vibe, too) and the best most obscure dub, the stuff you hear but can never find to buy.

Who can’t like a band whose logo was clearly done by a street name painter? Getting those guys to paint creepy messages for you is the hipster housewarming gift of the season…just imagine handing one off that says “Boner” or “Plenty O’Cancer”…

Matt, I’ve got the second Liars album and it’s true: it’s difficult. I like some “difficult” stuff, but it errs on the side of being more atmospheric/quiet.
Actually, I got it because someone else gave it away.
Prof. Murder is in another classic Mr. Show skit, east coast ventruiloquists vs. west coast ventruiloquists. Also in this sequence is Kill Or Be Killed.

these guys rule at live shows, i’ve seen them a couple times.
i really like the second liars disc – and they were great live around that time, almost genuinely creepy.

re: laser sounds…in NYC, at least, the reggae shows have all kinds of laser sounds/air horns/nonsense thrown on top by the DJs. it’s kind of awesome, if you’re up at 5am.
