Yeah, we know this link is old, but just in case you didn’t see it on a million oher blogs…

No question Samberg & Parnell’s Narniariffic digital short was a Web sensation. The NY Times write-up and subsequent deluge of SNL podcasts probably means we’ll get a follow-up. In the meantime, check out the priceless homage on Waxy:

My 9-year-old nephew and 7-year old niece perform “Lazy Sunday.” (Watch the original.)

January 21 Update: I just received an e-mail from NY Daily News reporter Julian Kesner, who wrote a profile on Andy Samberg and “Lazy Sunday” last month. Julian heard about Nick and Amelia’s MP3 and sent it to Andy Samberg. Andy wrote back and said, “That might be my favorite thing of all time ever.”

For Nick and Amelia’s crazy delicious audio head to Waxy.org. Hopefully it’ll find its way to Zoe.

UPDATE: Amy’s Robot took “the obvious next step” and remixed the original video to feature the kids’ audio. Watch (MP4)

UPDATE 2: The West Coast responds … “Lazy Monday.”

  1. The way the Blog-O-Sphere is fawning over this Lazy Sunday sketch reminds me of a line from a Jay Z song.

“Four albums in ten years nigga? I could divide
That’s one every let’s say two, two of them shits was due
One was – NAHHH, the other was “Illmatic”
That’s a one hot album every ten year average
    And that’s so – LAAAAAAAME!”

For those who need backstory: Jay Z was dissing (as they say) Nas for the fact that he had only put out one decent album in the last ten years. I suppose I could draw an analogy between that and how the Blog-O’s have gone apeshit crazy over the first (sort of) funny thing SNL has done in the last half-dozen seasons…. but I’ll leave you all to draw that analogy by yourselves.

  2. Whoah Joey. Let’s not let things get out of hand. We’re still not actually *watching the show* or anything crazy like that. Lonely Island kids are funny, but I think we all realize SNL has a lot of making up to do.

Kids usually make things sound better. That was crap. I’m sorry. I was annoyed.

i thought it was going to be “lazy sunday” bt the small faces. imagine my disappointment.

  5. Haha, cute!

I’ve loved Andy since he and rest of the TLI guys started The Bu way back when… I miss their stuff like that, but it’s nice to be able to see him on SNL every weekend, along with Jorm sometimes lurking in the background as an extra…

  6. Calliwell: I’d like to know what kind of person would be so obnoxiously rude to a couple of little kids. If you don’t like it, why not just keep it to yourself?

I think he commented thinking that the kids, or the kids uncle for that matter, would never read the comment, so he didn’t have to worry about personally offending them. It’s his opinion, it was annoying, so get off his back Uncle Andy.

  8. Sorry, I can’t help being an overprotective uncle. I’m especially sensitive so many asshats coming from CollegeHumor.com left anonymous insults on my site, forcing me to close comments on the thread. It’s just frustrating, and a little puzzling, why people act the way they do online. See also: Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory.”

  9. There has been a west coast reponse to the Chronic of Narnia rap. Equally funny.
    Called “Lazy Monday”.
