Well yes, they’re still broken up. But while Steve Mason records under his alter ego King Biscuit Time, Robin Jones and John Maclean have their own spin-off: the Aliens. Go here to listen to two funky space-rock tracks. Like anything associated with the Beta Band … recommended.

Sounds interesting, any news on a debut LP?

And what about King Biscuit Times debut album, when’s that coming out?

  2. I miss the Beta Band. However, I like that even though the three of them don’t work together….. at least two of them do. Did enjoy KBT, and the Aliens don’t disappoint. Good stuff.

  3. Leighton, the KBT album came out in 2000, well worth picking up in my opinion.

As for the Aliens, that should come out April ’06, if all things go well.

Nah, that was an EP called “No Style”, I’m on about his debut full length called “The Crunch”…check out Pitchfork here: http://pitchforkmedia.com/news/05-11/23.shtml

  5. D’oh i’m an idiot.

  6. The Aliens also features the original Beta Band singer Gordon Anderson (I think that’s his name). That guy has put out some GREAT CDs under the name Lone Pigeon that are well worth scooping up.
