“One Lucky Fan” in Seattle has been listening to PJ’s upcoming comeback album for a few weeks now and takes us through it track by track.

“well even though almost half of the new album has been leaked already, i’ve still decided to do my own little review of the new album … i’ve been very lucky over the past month or so to have been allowed to listen to the record on numerous occassions. i’m not allowed to say who hooked me up, in fear of them getting in trouble, but i am very grateful for their generosity!”

Mysterious! Like that freakin’ avocado.

Pearl Jam and epic shinny
I've always been a nostalgic guy. I listen to music that brings me back to good ol' times (this music often involves Pearl Jam), I watch movies I loved 10 or 20 years ago (The Fugitive, anyone?), and I often reminisce about the carefree days of my youth.
Doug Pullen: Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder brings solo show to Plaza in April
Here's a show I actually want to see. Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder will bring his solo tour to the Plaza Theatre at 7:30 p.m. April 17. It's been 17 years since his band, which celebrated its 20th anniversary last year, has performed in El Paso.

  1. Parachutes is a hot little number

  2. There’s nothing mysterious about the avocado. McCready or Gossard said that they wanted to put something completely meaningless on the cover, because the album itself is supposed to be super meaningful. (Or something to that effect). No mystery!

Looking forward to the album :-)

  3. Will the remix album feature a bowl of guacamole on the cover?

  4. the album is out there to be had… although the quality of the leak is really poor so i’d say wait to be honest…

it’s def a lot better than Riot Act, and probably Binaural, time will tel.

i don’t agree w/ a lot of that guy’s track reviews really tho.

  5. I heard the leak and it’s definitely their best album in a long time. Inside Job in particular.

  7. Case  |   Posted on Apr 10th, 2006

Yeah, you don’t care so much that you went to the trouble of posting your apathy for the whole world to enjoy.

    What a Deadshit.

    1. one’s about the size and consistency of your daily bowel movement
    2. Haim or Feldman: which Corey do you like better?
    3. Nascar

  20. Pearl Jam is not playing the Nokia Theatre. Sorry, I don’t know who posted that or how they are affiliated with Ames Bros., but it’s a false rumor.

  27. Dr. Bungole  |   Posted on Apr 18th, 2006

Alright, everyone listen to me. This new music from Pearl Jam sucks ass. Anyone who disagrees with me is wrong. Eddie Vedder is an asshole. THis new music sucks. WHat kind of an asshole writes a song called World Wide suicide. Another album by Pearl Jam that sucks big time. This album sounds nothing like old Pearl Jam. Old PJ had Dave Abbruze??? drumming if I recall, and he was a key part of the band. HE is a much better drummer than jock boy Matt Cameron. THis album just continues the downward trend of a once good band. FUck you Eddie, and PEarl Jam, you suck.

  28. @ Dr. Bungole

    YOU suck.

And PJ has never been better!

Only band that keeps on rocking. And that’s what it’s all about.

“But I like the TEN PJ…”

Yeah, and you probably like reruns of Married with children too… Try to keep up Doc…

    BEST BAND EVER!

    No thanks , gayboy !!!!!!!!!!!

  35. Brad  |   Posted on Apr 22nd, 2006

Matt Cameron is a fantastic drummer – how can you doubt that? Abbruzzee was a key part of the groups early sound, but they’ve evolved as artists and I think Matt works well within the context of their new material. Part of a drummers job (and all band members for that matter) is to listen across the group and blend with the sound in a way that is complementary, not intrusive. When there’s an opportunity for a fill or some inventive way to accent the rhythms of the melody, that’s the drummers chance to add his signature. Matt understands this and does a damn good job at it.

  36. pearl jam fucking sucks they always did and they always wore and there to best songs arent even average they suck jermy sucks and alive suck and i bet there new album will sell no more then 300k copy

  43. Yeah, haters, go see Pearl Jam live, get Yield, etc. Cameron has mad fucking skills, his fills are unbelievable where as Dave A. was your textbook grunge timekeeper. Whatever, of course Pearl Jam doesn’t have cred, they were ABOVE the radar before they were under, aw shit!
