We were mighty impressed to see PiP jump to the top the elbo.ws Most Downloaded list. (Of course, these things are fickle … when there’s a new Tool song clogging everyone’s inbox.)

People in Planes are on tour now to support As Far As The Eye Can See and Stereogum’s teamed up with them to give away one pair of tickets to see the band in each the following cities.

Austin, TX – 4/21/2006 – Stubb’s Bar-B-Que
Atlanta, GA – 4/28/2006 – The Roxy
Cincinnati, OH – 5/7/2006 – Bogart’s
Cleveland, OH – 5/9/2006 – House of Blues
New York, NY – 5/11/2006 – Bowery Ballroom

Plus, the CD. So 5 winners total. Tryin’ to be less NY-centric and all that.

Just enter here.

YAY for People in Planes! I met them a few weeks ago when they were opening for Blue October. They were very nice and down to earth guys who like beer and lightsabers.
And I have to love a band who has a song called “If you talk too much my head will explode.”

    Come back to Chicago!

  7. It doesn’t bother anyone that these guys are on Creed’s label?

I couldn’t agree more Dan, signing to Wind-Up Records was a huge mistake (as far as ‘independent’ labels go anyway). However, these guys have real potential and their live shows are definitely worth checking out. They absolutely blew me away when I first saw them way back in 2002 in a small student bar in Lincoln, UK. Shame they’ve focussed their efforts solely on conquering the U.S./Canada. Coming back to England anytime soon guys? Also, I recommend ‘Moth’ or ‘Falling By The Wayside’ over ‘Talk Too Much’.
