This is bad news. S-K are a great band who has made amazing records and always puts on a tremendous live show. I’m glad I got tickets to the August show at Webster since it looks like it will be their last performance in NYC.

Please, Sleater-Kinney was one of the last great rock bands we had, and considering so much bullshit trendy indie-pop gets considerably more coverage, it’s a fucking shame S-K wasn’t more embraced in the “indie rock” community. Tell me with a straight-face that Dig Me Out, All Hands On The Bad One, One Beat, or The Woods aren’t superb records.

Until The Woods, Sleater-Kinney did nothing that spectacular, but I was hoping that they would start rocking more albums such as The Woods. I’m not heartbroken, but I feel they were finally getting a hold of their own sound.

Love them or hate them, SK made a special noise, a unique sound of their own, weaving a blend of angst and energy into a music a whole generation craved. I find thats a quality lacking in so many wantabe bands today. Knock them if you must, but SK will out live their critics.
Wow, amazing how many people were into SK. They were sooo horrible, Corin Tucker and those other girls could really use some vocal lessons. Kinda reminded me of a cat giving birth. Just another band that gave music a bad name.
