I bought Showbiz the week it came out (used too!) and loved it, but sort of slept on Muse until I saw them live at Curiosa. Black Holes And Relevations can be heard in its entirety at MuseSpace. Recommended!

  3. i don’t care who knows it…

…i love this band. it’s so over the top, but catchy as hell.

If this guy tried anymore to sing like Thom Yorke he’d get sued.

i think its kinda weak. some songs stick out but as a whole, rubbish. i loved “origin of symmetry” my favorite and i think theyre best work yet, “absoultion” was alright but really played out.

i’m as excited about this album as sufjan is about having that t-shirt stuck in his collar

  8. Well, I think it’s a little over-produced, and very much like queen (as everybody has said), but I like it. It’s definitely a grower, much like Absolution was, but I’m learning to love it :)

Muse are great, seeing them live tonight!

  10. this album is amazing, i think it’s ahead of it’s time though and perhaps that is why people are reacting to it so confusingly.

  11. I'm Right  |   Posted on Jun 28th, 2006

HaHaHa. Ahead of it’s time. Yeah, it’s the worst record of 2009.

Muse is overrated. They should just like everybody else doing the same thing, and even worse they’re not that good at it.

  13. the B-side and japanese import track are here:

Just for all you homos who hate the band.

    Wow! Thanks JASPER!!!

  15. Yeah, I got sent this (copy-protected so severely that it wouldn’t play in half of my players) and I just had to laugh. It’s amazing, all right, only not in the way you mean.

I mean, do people REALLY listen to this kind of crap? It’s like the worst cover-band record of all time – one song is Radiohead, one is Depeche Mode, one is U2 and on and on. Jesus, if this is what you people are reduced to liking maybe the America thing isn’t so ridiculous after all.

(Well, no. It is ridiculous, and you’d realize that if you were old enough to have suffered through it the first time). I’m just waiting for all the hipsters to claim that REO Speedwagon was “great” and “underrated”.

  16. Seriously, if I hear one more person say that any British artist, let alone Muse, is a Radiohead ripoff, Thom Yorke ripoff – whatever – I’m going to kill someone. Let artists be artists, and do what they want to do – stop saying that every single British artist out there trying to make a living is suddenly a Radiohead ripoff, because seriously, “Ok Computer” wasn’t that great an album.

But seriously, the new Muse album kicks ass. It definitely isn’t as complete as their previous ones – Soldier’s Poem sticks out like a sore thumb, as does Hoodoo. Nevertheless, it is an excellent album.

Muse has definitely taken too large of a step from absolution. The lyrics are too controversial and I can see many american fans getting upset… over all this album is okay. A bit over produced and too much pop in some of the songs.

  19. MUSE is shithot, there lyrics aint that controversial, besides it’s not really the lyrics that make a band, it’s the music they play.
And my opinion is MUSE have and always will play some of the best music I’ve ever heard.

A little message to people that continue to say MUSE are shit, go sit down, smoke a couple of joints and really listen to the music, forget about the lyrics, and the so called “radiohead-ness” of the band and get a life.
