Just when you think Gnarls might be out of tricks, they prove everyone wrong. At two recent sold-out shows at the Avalon, the duo peformed the Doors’ b-side “Who Scared You.” Cee-Lo said he and Danger are big fans of the band.

I’m still trying to track down a bootleg. In the meantime…

As for the costumes, Monday was Grease night. AOL Music was there.

Coming out on stage to the strains of the theme song from the ’70s classic, Cee-Lo introduced himself as ‘Fon Travolta.’ He then asked, “Any Gnarls Barkley fans here tonight?” When the crowd shouted in response, he replied, “They couldn’t make it tonight. This is the G-Birds.”

Are people still talking about Gnarls Barkley? One good song and a whole lot of filler. Dangermouse is ridiculously overrated, as is everything he’s been involved in.

I loathe the Doors. What’s the line about Jim being an overrated lounge singer? But mayhaps Gnarls will adjust my opinion.

I guess just because I don’t like average, but wildly overrated, music I must like Justin Timberlake, right?

  8. When Gnarls performed The Filmore here in SF last week they covered Holly Golightly’s “There’s No End” which was awesome. I have been trying to track down a mp3 of it online but haven’t found one yet.

well when the raconteurs played the Warfield here in SF this weekend, they covered gnarls barkley. Now THAT is an mp3 worth tracking down because it was the proverbial balls.

I just don’t get it. With all the shit that’s actually “popular” (i.e., on MTV, ClearChannel radio, etc.) why grouse about Gnarls Barkley like they’re stealing airtime from old Pavement records?
