if these clips are any indication, this album is going to be painfully generic. sadly, regardless how bad the album actually is– it will still sell a minimum of 2 million copies.

honestly, i listened to those clips and they could have been a whole lot worse. there’s a pretty fair chance that dude’s lyrics have gotten better, in the very least.
i dont know how to feel about this, hopefully it grows on me like when you were young….
Hot Fuss is actually seeming more epic than this contrived shit. The only song that actually stands out is When You were Young. The rest is garbage.
yeah, the clips are crap, but it’s hard to judge without hearing them in the context of the complete songs…

i was meh when i first heard the 30-second clip of “when you were young” and now i’m completely enamored by it. it’s hard to judge songs by merely 30 secs but from what i’m hearing, i’d say they all show potential.
you people should be relieved at the very least that there’s actually a decent album coming out this year (this and probably mcr’s “the black parade,” which i’m looking forward to as well) to beat the likes of nickelback having the best-selling rock album of the year.

For the first album Brandon was trying to sound like Robert Smith, now he’s going for David Byrne! WHEN YOU WERE YOUNG is massive and like it or not, its the best rock single of the year. BONES is probably the next single and MY LIST and EXITLUDE sound interesting as well. hmm im a little disappointed from what I’m hearing to be honest. I still support the band and intend on seeing them this month and the next but… the only thing they “kept” are their confused lyrics. The tone of the album doesnt make me wanna get up and move but rather “kill” myself… pun intended.
Going to queue up my hot fuss album right now and go back to my happy place when i thought this grp was gonna be around for awhile.
NOTE TO BAND: taking advice from oasis will result in one thing, a 10 year ban from america for stupidity. Followed by a come back to the states with a semi decent album: dont believe the truth… whose title is pretty ironic. Noel is a WEAK and these killers clips sound like a take on beetle/oasis with the killers singer.
