Back for a fourth round of under appreciation is the smoldering post-punk of Liverpool’s Clinic. Clenched jaws and eerie background vocals abound on this new cut from Visitations, available via iTunes 10/24 and in record stores 1/23/07.

I don’t actually believe this, but just so I can be the first to post the most obvious snarky response:

    “Enunciation is overrated, anyway.”

    “So is Clinic.”

I’ve heard Visitations, and it’s garbage. The whole lot.

  4. The problem with Clinic is that they put out some good EP’s and a solid record then proceeded to make the same record over and over again.

Visitations is okay, half a dozen decent songs, better than the last one anyway. Internal Wrangler was amazing, and still seems fresh, but it’s been a cycle of dimishing returns since then, you can’t keep rewriting the same 2 or 3 tunes for 6 years. They desperately need to introduce some new elements into their sound, and excercise a bit more quality control.. so much of this stuff seems half-baked.

  11. sounds like clinic. surprise!

the problem with paul h. is that he posts a good comment and then goes ahead and post the same comment again.

  13. good to hear some minimal tribal drumming in ’06. I’m surprised at how enjoyable this track is – unforunate that scott is right – this ain’t catchin’ on with any of the kids who dig the mall-punk. The singer sounds a bit like an extremely frustrated Feargal Sharkey here.

  14. Sigh … I loved that first album. And loved the show I saw at Irving however many years ago it was.

But ever since then they’ve been treading water.
