ABC News reports there will be some left-field cameos in The Dirt, the movie adaptation of Motley Crue’s 2001 best seller, to be directed by Larry Charles (Borat!).
Hide the Bats! Christopher Walken has agreed to play the ultimate bad-boy rocker ? Ozzy Osbourne.The Dirt: Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band set new limits in tell-all confessionals. The 448-page tome catalogues the drug and alcohol abuse, nasty infighting, and sex parties of Neil and band mates Tommy Lee, Mick Mars and Nikki Sixx.
Osbourne toured with Motley Crue and was friends with the band, and his antics, as recounted in the book, include snorting a line of live ants (while looking for a fix of cocaine) and taking LSD every day for a year “just to see what would happen.”
Neil says that other stars are going to appear in the film as rock stars, including Val Kilmer as David Lee Roth. “We’re doing big, giant cameos with those people,” he says.
The band members, however, will be played by unknowns. No fun! Who do you see as Vince, Nikki, Mick and Tommy?

Ashton Kutcher should play Tommy Lee. Lee’s emotional range is well within Kutcher’s acting ability. He’s also got the lank-fu going.

I also think ashton kutcher should be in this movie in some role. The new lead singer for rockstar supernova lukas rossi could be terrific in a small part, he’s basically unknown until the last couple of months but he sure has “Rockstar” built right inside him.
For Nikki Sixx, the lead singer of Lennex, a band on the East Coast, his first name is Phil. He looks just like Nikki.
John Stamos should be in this movie in some role he has the look and is in the music business.
Also Mark Wahlberg can play anything.. Think drug addict part he would excell.

I agree with whoever suggested John Stamos in a role in this movie. He was in a movie once a few years back in part of husband living the quiet life but in fact was a dangerous killer. He was brilliant. He could play a dark side or the part they want for the drug addict. He would be amazing.
I think Jonathan Reyes – Myer is great. He could play any part. Especially a down and out part or maybe a drug related part.
To all producers and casting staff for this picture. My friends and I just recently went to see Apocolypto, Mel Gibson’s movie and were blown away by the acting in this film. A virtual cast of unknowns just literally exploded on the screen. Please take a look and view this film. The lead actor, I believe it was said, hadn’t acted before and he shines, he is just brilliant. He would be a great asset to your movie. In your best interest if you can see him do his magic on screen.

Yes, could see either Mark Wahlberg or Joaquin Phoenix in any drug related part for the movie. That would call for a talented actor who can do anything and both these actors have proven themselves.
If there is a part in the movie as has been mentioned for any drug acting role I think any member of the first GunsN’Roses band would be perfect. Slash or my pick would be Duff in a part of heroine addict. I heard they had a role for that in the movie. Duff would be awesome.

I love Kevin Bacon as an actor and lead singer of his band with his brother. I wish that there was a part for him in this movie.
This movie is just screaming out to the producers and casting teams to cast in any role, but especially the lead singer roles the following bizarre and brialliant talents of flea, and anthony of the red hot chili peppers. Just perfection for this insanely ROCK movie. I can visualize it now. Especially, Anthony as Niki!!!!
you people are all idiots. the meat of this story takes place in the early years of the band. therefore, you can’t have all of these over-the-hill, old balls, 40 years old+ actors playing the band members. anthony keidis and KEVIN BACON?!?!?!?!? get serious. even johnny depp is too old for any role as nikki.
as much as i hate ashton kutcher, he probably would do tommy lee justice if he playd his character. and jared leto would seemingly be a solid nikki, which is obviously going to be the main character in the movie. but i am under the belief that if the ideal established hollywood actors can’t be signed, then the producers should go with unknown actors to play the band.

I too agree totally about ashton kutcher for tommy lee and jared leto for nikki styxx. I would definately go to see the movie with these two in title roles. Maybe I could see mark wahlberg with lighter and longer hair as vince neil. He can do any role and any part justice.

Joaquin Phoenix as Mick.ALL EXCELLENT CASTING. Seems Vince is going to be hard to cast. Can’t believe so many agree with J. Knoxville for Nikki, I hope he does it.
I don’t know if you could consider Constantine Maroulis an actor although I read he has done a play or something to this effect. In one of the postings above the poster stated that someone who may look a little feminine or girley, but definitely macho I thought of Constantine he has that silly smile or smirk like Vince. He can rock out and I’m sure could not only get through the craziness and madness, but could probably add to it. Something to think about.

My friends and I were just channell surfing and we came across an interesting movie on lilfetime (I know, old movies), but anyways the star of the movie was Billy Baldwin. He looked like and his style was so much like Tommy Lee. Maybe this could work out for the movie.
I’m thinkn that edward furlong would make a great nikki because of his work in detroit rock city, fro tommy lee, ashton kutcher would be terrible because he plays more of a dork in all of his movies, i think that ryan renolds would play a good tommy because tommy was always a smart ass fun guy, and that is wat ryan renolds is, for mick, im thinkn that Chris Evans would be great because he has more of that serious smart ass attitude just like mick, no for vince, im thinkn that Josey Scott aka lead singer of saliva would be awesome for vince just because they have the same attitude.
