Finally, some decent audio of new Modest Marr! The quality ain’t perfect, but it’s good enough to get us excited. With its melodic, clean riffs “We’ve Got Everything” could easily be a great Smiths song — and then it gets all Mousey. They’re probably still working out arrangements, and it’s bound to sound even better on record, but we’re liking what we hear! Kudos to all for trying something new. Moz had his shot; Brock is like an Anti-Moz. And it’s working.

DUDE #1: It’s not even good weed.
DUDE #2: What’s tha?
Are you sure, Dude? You sound pretty high during “Paper Thin Walls.”

nothing special about either of the modest marr tracks honestly. cmon, morrissey be killin yr ass.
dashboard is amaaazing.
The recording had better be way, way, way, way, way…
…way, way better.
sounds like “Message in a Bottle” + modest mouse guitar bends + modest mouse indie rock dance drumming + shouting…..
it was better when Isaac wasn’t singing.
why is the set so filled with ‘good news’??
worst set ever. if i wanted to hear all the bullshit “good news” songs I wouldve just stayed home. The song sounds like “The View” (Redux, ft. Johnny Marr). Disappointed
Wow is that fucking terrible. And I love Modest Mouse.
This has nothing to do with Modest Mouse, but my pseudo-indie music/politics/movies blog, Mirr World, is up for “blog of the week”. If you feel so inclined, you can vote for it here:

i really hope this set picks up by the time they play bowery
I don’t think an indie rock world that embraces mediocre drek like Tapes ‘N’ Tapes and whatever other hype-of-the-moment should really be complaining about Modest Mouse.
1. These songs aren’t that bad at all.
2. It’s a bootleg!!!
3. Good News was a great album, like it or not.
4. Modest Mouse will always be more compelling than whatever new band of cardigan-wearing lit majors decides to make a quasi-twee pop record.
I’m going to have to disagree with the lot of you – I fucking love these songs.
