Speaking of Fleetwood Mac, “Rhiannon” was one of the tunes C. Love played when she appeared at the Gay & Lesbian Centre benefit in LA’s Henry Fonda Theatre this May. Footage of the gig has finally surfaced, where Courtney also unveiled new tunes like “Sunset Marquis” and “Pacific Coast Highway.” They’re up on YouTube in two parts; check ‘em out here and here. (via RS)

Maybe we’ll hear these when she takes over BBC 6 for a day next month, but you don’t need to wait ’til then to load ‘em up to your iPod; hit Moon Washed Rose for isolated audio MP3s of the performance.

Is it just us or is “Pacific Coast Highway” actually sorta … good? Maybe that’s just the Perry/Corgan-buzz talking.

Unless “PCH” is a cover of the tune off “Sister”, I’m not biting. Am I the only one who thinks these three people have outlived their cultural usefulness?

Maybe all three of them should form a supergroup entitled “4 Pumpkin Holes”. They would just need a 4th member who would remind them to keep the egos in check and the 911 number handy.

By the way, why is it that when a band covers a tune and makes the opening chords obvious, no one cheers until the lyrics? Man… ‘Rhiannon’ should be automatic!

Finally, a post title sadder than “Smash Mouth A Capella”

  4. Let us not forget that these people made some of the best music of the 1990s. Hole released “Live Through This”, Smashing Pumpkins realeased “Siamese Dream” and Linda Perry…wore a rather fetching hat.

What’s with the Courtney hating anyway? At least she’s entertaining. When the NME rates that bloke from The Horrors as the 2nd coolest person in in music, we clearly need more like her.

  6. I love Courtney. She’s brilliant. I can’t wait for her record. Fuck you sickos.

the first 2 hole albums were 2 of the best rock albums ever written. yes she’s a mess, but she is also the definition of rockstar. as much as i wish she’d take better care of herself, i admire the hell out of her. she’s a god-damn BADASS and she doesn’t care what you think.

    i said good-day!
