While magazines are starting to publish their lists, bloggers have also begun to share the fruits of their laborious iTunes playcounts tallying, blog post aggregating, and indie cred calculating (Yeti). Here’s a list of lists from a few of our friends in blogging:

ChromewavesTop Albums
Gorilla Vs. Bear – Top Albums and Songs
My Old Kentucky BlogBest EPs and Best Hip-Hop
Said The GramophoneBest Songs and Albums
Yeti Don’t DanceTop Albums and Top Albums (For Indie Cred)

Also, though not a blog, the folks at Refinery29 have put together their list for the Top 20 Albums of the year, featuring many a Stereogum-approved artist (and a free MP3 from each album!). If you have a year-end list we missed, feel free to let us know. And for a dynamic “master list,” updated daily and incredibly comprehensive, hit LHB. Love a particular blogger’s tastes? 1. I like the Chromewaves the best, mostly because it has Shearwater on there, which made my Album of the Year list as well (http://recordsibuy.blogspot.com/2006/11/and-nominees-are.html).

This is an album that needs to be heard.

Am i the only one that liked “Favourite Sons” (Vice) “Down Beside Your Beauty”. Either their label did a shity job getting it out there, or it has to be one of the most overlooked records of 2006. It tops my list.

  7. Pixel revolt, the last John Vanderslice’s album was released in 2005 or 2006? It’s a great album

  8. Pixel Revolt was last year. It made my top 20.

  9. Yeah, the Chromwaves one is definitely the most human. The other ones just look like they’re trying to outdo each other with obscurity. I’d like to see that Gramophone guy listen to that whole Swan Lake joke of an album from start to finish.

  14. I have to say I disagree with practically all the suggestions in everyone’s top 10, but its all opinion at the end of the day.

Nice to see some with a couple of unknowns.

  16. Correction to my list:

  17. I listened to the whole Swan Lake album. I liked it. Do I win the prize?

  18. Wesley  |   Posted on Dec 12th, 2006

So, yesterday, in a very sick (literally) minded state I stated in my Gummy award form that I didn’t read any other blogs. Now, today, with medication coursing through my system, I gotta say Gorilla Vs. Bear.
    Why?
    The Knife.
    Can I revote?
As for Chromewaves, whoever does that blog should have just posted the same album 10 times, because that is the indie narrowest(-minded) sampling of the last year’s albums that I ever could have conceived of. Best and favorite are not the same thing, ya know.

  19. How did The Fratellis not make any of these lists???
