We just got through listening to the Voxtrot remixes you guys sent in, and we’re impressed! “Mothers, Sisters, Daughters & Wives” is a pop gem, so we weren’t sure which direction you guys would go; the best we could ask for was a new twist, ’cause improving it would’ve been right difficult. Our favorite tweak on the song comes from reader DW Dunphy, who kept Ramesh’s voice in place and stripped down the guitars, turning in an airy, mildly reverbed, piano-tinkling tune.

Mothers, Sisters, Daughters & Reich (MP3 at ZShare)

So pretty. And minimalistic like Steve Reich! We like.

Can you send the remixes to buffetlibre@buffetlibre.net?

This is actually a Buffet Libre project. Thanks.

  6. ha tremulance…im sorry your remix is kinda annoying. its not terrible but i mean you picked one line to keep repeating and its not even the best one..the whole washed vocals thing is cool but not for the whole song! idk its not terrible it just turned a good song into stereotypical techno..DW dunphy on the other hand..freaking awesome.

  7. hey dude, thanks for listening. this is actually the first kind of venture into this whole remixing thing, so your criticism is totally appreciated.

  8. Well, it may be late, but here is my remix of the Voxtrot tune. Guitar, keyboard, and a little eight. oh. eight.
