Perhaps in a call to our nostalgic funnybone, Damon took to the pages of Uncut to take some digs at old rival Jarvis Cocker’s infamous Jacko stage crash at the ’96 BRIT awards, his solo single “Cunts Are Still Running The World,” and more specifically, his overall world view (via NME):

At the end of the day, we suspect most people are either Team Damon or Team Jarvis. Pick your champion.

It’s called having a sense of humour that is more refined than just being hamfistedly silly every now and again and instead using a quintessentially razor sharp English wit to its fullest.
Maybe Damon is too sincere or too stupid to know when Jarvis is being funny.
But whatever, all the Shoegazer bands were better anyway. Then Britpop came along and broke them all up, or in the case of Ride incurred a sort of if-you-can’t-beat-em-join-em mentality. Ride then put out two HORRIBLE albums and Andy Bell joined Oasis.

Damon’s good, but for every great Blur song, there’s about 3 crap ones..(specially those old cds, cough.) Gorillaz was alright at the time, but new Gorillaz sucks. My teenage self would have been edging towards Damon, but now even I can admit his personality is lacking. So it’s got to be Team Jarvis. He is what he is, and it’s pretty great.

Anyway, the Gallaghers’ antics were always far more hilarious than anyone off Blur. Have you ever seen Noel in any doc? He’s got a fucking comedian timing.
The Gallaghers’ antics got really old, really fast for me. I’ll admit Noel HAS been clever in the past but not so much now. And the best Liam ever could come up with was calling George Harrisson a ‘nipple’.

Jarvis didn’t pull his pants down. Geez. Unfortunately, someone FINALLY uploaded the footage of the Michael Jackson incident to Youtube and it was taken down. I didn’t know that was a feud either,especially considering Blur and Pulp toured the US together. They were both brilliant at the Fillmore in SF and both bands turned up the next night at the tiny Bottom of the Hill to see an up & coming band called Oasis. Pre-feud indeed. As for them having a feud, there’s been debate that “Common People” is partially based on the middle class members of Blur acting like they were more common than they actually were.

Since I’m team captain and all, I thought I’d take a moment to let you all know that your opinions are kicking a lot of ass, but a few more could really make all the difference.
Hands down it’s team Damon. Not question about it. Damon’s made some msitakes over the past few years, but at least he still has some pressence in the industry. Topping the charts with the Gorillaz concept album was a feat of genius.
