Finally, a legitimate reason to watch American Idol.

Big-screen Brat Paul Abdul had yet another DeVito moment during a satellite interview with Seattle’s Q13 Fox News yesterday morning. Seattle Times reports:

American Idol judge Paula Abdul looked utterly loopy, slurring words, smiling crookedly, waving with both hands, unable to stay quite in the camera’s frame during a live interview (from New York City) to talk about Seattle’s singing talent.

Of course we wouldn’t be posting if you couldn’t watch all the fun on YouTube. Plus, we get to use our William Hung tag.

In Paula’s defense, it was almost noon New York time.

American Idol premieres Tuesday at 8pm on FOX. (Video via BWE.)

I saw the same interview press junket via Fox-11 KTTV Los Angeles yesterday. She looked loopy, acted overly-familiar, sounded totally unprofessional. We loves us our white trash Paula.

  4. Kevin  |   Posted on Jan 12th, 2007

    That’s ridiculous.

  5. “seriously I think she had a stroke.”

If by “stroke”, you mean a boatlaod of vodka, then I think you are right.

Bitch needs to take 12 steps forward, 12 steps back.

  7. it’s quite sad actually, she has a real problem. i’m not trying to be a prude here, but people should start feeling sorry for her and suggest treatment.

…sorry to be such a debbie downer ):

I think she’s lovely like this, I don’t understand what you American are always so whiny about not being a totally perfect rolemodel. The things she says still make sense so I don’t see the problem nor the shock you all appear to be experiencing. Greets from Holland.

Yeah Mossel! Americans should embrace overexposed drunk celebrities being in their morning news!

  14. If she’s not drunk, I’ll eat my hat. And, as far as my entertainment purposes are concerned, I think we need to put more drunken celebrities on live television. Talk about living on the edge. Es very nice!

I posted this on some other vid boards – so just am going to copy and paste it here to save my fingers some time, lol.

My mom has MS – and when she’s having an attack – she sounds and moves EXACTLY like that – slurring and everything.

Sometimes she doesn’t even realize how different she is sounding and moving, and her face will do that sagging on one side thing, and she will do that rolling “jitter” where it’s like they can’t sit still … it’s because they can’t.

I’m going to say that I bet she has MS or Parkinsons that has not yet been diagnosed or if it has, shes not making it public as long as she can to avoid the stigma that comes with it – like Michael J. Fox did.

It could be a number of diseases that affect speech, motor skills and movement, and even recognition that something is “not right” with themselves – a large number of times the people themselves aren’t aware there is ANYTHING wrong until the folks around them tell them.

It could be she’s abusing drugs – but it is JUST as possible AND just as likely that she has a medical problem that she doesn’t know about – or hasn’t made public and didn’t realize that she was having as bad of an attack and was just trying to “soldier on” without realizing it was way too obvious to hide successfully.

All I know is my mom has done the IDENTICAL things Paula did and it was just that her MS was coming out in full force – which BTW can be triggered by overheating, stress, fatigue, and a bunch of other things.

If she was tired then yeah – she’d not notice it was as bad as it was, and yeah it’s a LOT worse than it normally would be if they push themselves past what they should.

And yes, that’s a common issue with that disease, they tend to push themselves farther than they should when they feel it coming on thinking just let me finish this before I cant do it … which actually makes it worse and last longer than if they just heeded what their body said, and took it easy and accepted their limitations.

I don’t know if she was actually drunk or not but her actions almost seem reasonable if you take into account what she has said about it. She said in a few interviews that there were multiple people talking into her headseat and if you watch more than one of the interviews you can see her holding her ear piece and looking up trying to concentrate add that to a hectic schedule of a celebrity and no sleep with a nervous/ fun personality and I would have probally been dancing, swiveling and smiling alot too…

  18. she’s not drunk. She has MS

My husband has MS and I tend to agree, she semed more like she had a problem rather than being drunk. Multiple Sclerosis patients exhibit the same symptoms and are often mistaken for being drunk. My husband has a legal card that tells the police he is not drunk but has MS so they can call and verify it.Because so many people get pulled over and given DUI’s,when they only have MS.

What do you think about Tokio Hotel? >:)

  21. Kane  |   Posted on Feb 14th, 2008

Damn girl…puff puff pass…you cant forget to pass…she musta been drunk or high!!! It was great :)

  22. yea i think she does have MS as well, but she is also really flighty who knows and to be honest who really cares. She’s just a celebrity not someone i consider to be terribly important.

i HATE WHEN SOME BUNCH OF STUPID MOTHERFUCKERS ARE TALKING PAULA ABDUL. SHE NEVER EVER HAS TO WORRY HER LITTLE PRETTY ASS, ABOUT BEING POOR. SHE’S RICH,BEAUTIFUL, SEXY, FINE AND HAS A NICE CHARATER ABOUT HERSELF. SO I REALLY WISH YOU’RE WILL BURN THE FUCK IN HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. LEAVE PAULA ABDUL A FUCKING ALONE, I LOVE HER. YOU BITCH.

  24. I have had my own arm chair theory that Paula Abdul has MS ( Multiple Sclerosis). I have thought this from the very beginning. Of course, MS can affect practically anything controlled by your nervous system ie.e her speech, Memory -her recent flub on remembering whether or not Jason had sung one or two songs.. She probably already knows she has MS and has chosen to keep this private and I can understand why. I think it will eventually get to the point where she will admit this during hiatus of the show..but that’s anyone’s guess because some manifestations of MS can go into remission for a time.
