Dear Grammy,

We will be liveblogging you on Sunday, and all we ask is for something like this to happen…

… to distract us from the denizens of the NARAS old folks home’s idea of taste and/or entertainment.

xoxo,
Stereogum

PS The readers may leave some Grammy wishes in the comments, too. If you can, make ‘em happen. In the name of Soy Bomb. Amen.

  7. What about that time Will.i.am(is that right?) from the Black Eyed Peas went on an on about winning a Grammy for best dance song or something like that when he was only supposed to be reading the nominations. I think it was on last year’s Grammys. Check it out.

It’s kind of trite at this point isn’t it? Remember the guy that got on stage at the VMAs this year? You don’t? Exactly my point. It’s expected. These things are only funny/entertaining when they’re unexpected, like SoyBomb. Ten years later and still people don’t know what the fuck that was about.
But take somemone like Kanye West. He got up once. Funny. He got up there again, funny, but kind of crazy and sad. He got up again, just crazy and basically annoying. If Kanye West got up there again, I would hope someone would have the good sense to get the goddamn hook…or at least make it so the mic couldn’t be lowered.

There should be a Grammy for the best stage crashing. But that award would get crashed too.
