Thanks for taking the coolest (and for being almost 8 mins long the most ballsy) song on the album and talking over half of it in a video. The bridge between the two sections is pretty cool, and in this they tossed a fight sequence into it. With that car chase I half expected Keanu Reeves and Paula Abdul to show up. If you’re gonna do a “short film” music video at least have the common courtesy to throw some zombies in it.

I’m very over Sam Bayer’s direction for music videos. After being 16 and falling for American Idiot, i was consistently disappointed with his crappy, melodramatic, uninventive videos. This thing reeks of Wake Me Up When September Ends.

I had always kind of hoped that scarlett would blossom into something of an elegant movie star that hearkened back to an actress of the past. The beauty that she exuded in lost in translation was amazing. But with nearly everything since then she’s turned into some uninteresting pop star. Totally clichéd and the director was trying too hard. I actually found it embarrassing to watch because of how predictable and cheap the dialogue and plot are. Also, I have to say the song stinks, I can’t believe this is what passes for good music these days. Everyone involved needs to study film and music history a little harder. The one positive thing I can say about this video is the high attention to detail in the costuming and styling of the actors and sets, everything else needs work. I’m so sick of the corporate music machine. By the way, why does everyone want to make karma so cheap and literal? Base, really base.

I love this video. I generally don’t like when singers try to act in videos – however, Justin is actually a great actor and I think this video was made very well. I really enjoy watching it and look forward to his videos to come.

Song is great. Video is overacted, but kinda hot. Scarlett is not hot enough for this type of story. Justin needed someone hotter. He’s a good actor, but in this vid, he’s too fake. What comes around goes around and he’ll probably get loads of money for years to come…
