As part of a nauseatingly comprehensive press push for the new thriller The Number 23, Jim Carrey is at present in the TRL studios, pimping his R rated movie to the tweeners in the studio and the after-school set at home. We’re watching ’cause … well we have no good reason. As awkward and Scientological as the funny man has been on recent interviews, he did offer up a few choice off-the-cuff nuggets.

On Michael Jackson’s rumored (and now officially denied) American Idol appearance:
Would be kinda fame deterrent, dontcha think? It’s like you get up there and go, (with frightened face) “I’m not sure I want this anymore.”
(In MJ falsetto): “I like your singing but your nose is too big.”

On his favorite video, Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy”:
I love the ink blot kinda thing, stained thing kinda happening. It’s like a Rorschach test. I look at it and I think of like mommy with a ruler coming at me. (His elastic face sorta made this one.)

On Britney’s head shaving incident:
Hey, they freaked out when Bob Dylan went electric, right?

That’s the Brit quote of the day right there. When he’s not busy being “clear,” the guy can still deliver. Gonna see the new flick? We’re not. But hopefully he’ll have some thoughts on Spears going back to rehab.

UPDATE: Onward with the press push! Jim just put up a Celebrity Playlist. Guess how many songs he chose? A couple of our favorites after the jump.

The Cure – “Close To Me”
“This song makes me feel like I’m being held down and tickled.”

Nirvana – “Breed”
“One of my anthems. Put it on and imagine you’re pummeling your foe’s face into blood soup.”

White Stripes – “Fell In Love With A Girl”
Not too many originals out there, but Jack is one of ‘em. I like him so much that I never want to meet him.

  1. HE’S NOT A SCIENTOLOGIST……..THAT BASICALLY RENDERS YOUR ARTICLE A PILE OF CRAP……..IF YOU’D DONE YOUR HOMEWORK FIRST YOU WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT….SHODDY WORK!!!

  2. yeah. that renders your whole article (consisting of QUOTES!!!) “a pile of crap”.

  3. Chris  |   Posted on Feb 20th, 2007

Is there a single ref in there that TRL fans would get? Besides MJ liking kiddiepoon.

  4. NOPE…….BUT THEY’VE TRIED TO BE SMART WITH THE REF TO ‘CLEAR’ AND ‘SCIENTOLOGY’…..AND WHEN YOU WRITE AN ARTICLE, A QUOTE IS SUPPOSED TO ENRICH IT……NOT BE THE MAJORITY OF IT!

    JCO STOP YELLING

  6. lawrence  |   Posted on Feb 20th, 2007

it’s a blog post not an article. did mommy just let you on the internet today, JCO?

  7. Jake  |   Posted on Feb 20th, 2007

It guess it’s ironic that Brit’s rehab center keeps her from drinking by threatening that she’ll have to watch “Fun with Dick and Jane” in its entirety.

  8. Yeah keep those ‘articles’ coming. :)

It’s probably not a coincidence that jimcarreyonline.com often refers to itself as JCO. Three cheers for obsessed fans who have nothing better to do than scour the internet for opportunities to go in a caps lock fueled tirade.

is it some sort of blogger birth-right to bash Scientology at every chance? in terms of fucked up religions they’re only in about 4th or 5th place

  11. Bender Bending Rodriguez  |   Posted on Feb 21st, 2007

I disagree with JCO’s article about your article. Your article never said that Jim Carrey was an actual Scientologist (Nutjob), nor did the article that you linked to in your article say such a thing………. so that renders JCO’s article a SHODDY PILE OF MONKEY SALIVA.

“in terms of fucked up religions they’re only in about 4th or 5th place”

Hmmmmm…so, 75 million years ago, there was an alien ruler named Xenu who froze 1.4 trillion people and captured their souls with machines.

I’m making that #1 with a Bullet on the “Fucked Up Religious Cult Hitlist!”

  13. jeffro  |   Posted on Feb 21st, 2007

Well they haven’t sponsored any wars or genocides that we know of, so I’d say that puts them way down the list of ‘fucked up religions’.

This guy is as bad as Robin Williams. Bring it down a notch, Jim.

“Well they haven’t sponsored any wars or genocides that we know of”

    Ahhh that we KNOW of.

well as far as celebrity endorsed religions go, I’d probably give it the #1 spot. Worldwide it doesn’t even place.
