The folks at The Onion have tag teamed with Tag Team media to put together a sweet lineup for this year’s South By celebration, including Stereofave’s Andrew Bird, Tokyo Police Club, and Land Of Talk. But their special touch comes in staying true to their comedy roots, as the satirical rag has enlisted some Human Giants and other haha funny guys to do some sets and cleanse your music-gorged ears. Patton killed at the Pitchfork tent last year, but everything’s funnier after three days of sleepless debauchery. Flyer below.

Get your timetables out and start planning. SXSW has posted the official scorecard of bands, times, and venues. The site also has sample MP3s from the bands so willing to provide, but if you have Peel or just don’t feel like clicking your mouse to destruction, hit HearYa for all the tracks on one page.

I’m not hating, because I also really like Tokyo Police Club, but how do they go from opening for the Spinto Band to totally surpassing them in popularity in only a couple of months? TPC’s album is solid but where’s the love for Spinto’s? I think it’s criminal how overlooked it’s been.

  5. marc hawthorne always throws the best SXSW parties.

you think this is crazy, look at the iheartcomix parties!

  7. I, too, love Andrew Bird, but the boy goes through some serious phases. I liked his swingin’ Thrills stuff, and I love The Swimming Hour so much it’s a crime I got it for $3. Weather Systems and post are so airy and insubstantial compared to that early hotness…thank god he still plays some of the old stuff, too!
