Robyn Hitchcock brought some of the Venus family to a much-anticipated (by us) gig at yesterday’s Yep Roc showcase at the Dirty Dog. We planted ourselves front and stage right to revel in Robyn’s flawless career-spanning acoustic set, for which he was joined by R.E.M.’s Peter Buck and Harvey Danger’s Sean Nelson. “Ole! Tarantula” and “I Wanna Destroy You” were crowd pleasers, but we chose to share the Egyptians’ hit “Flesh Number One (Beetle Dennis)” with you. Wish you were here, reader friend.
