One of the countless rocker sightings we had in Austin was of the ubiquitous Iha, who’s so everywhere-all-the-time that it hardly counts as surprising at this point. Still, waiting for our bags next to him upon arrival at the airport was a “hey we made it to SXSW, didn’t we?” moment, and spotting him at Kings Of Leon on Saturday night (post tk) was more of the same.

So, here’s some loosely connected news we missed while show-going last Friday: Billy, Jimmy, and whomever else count as Smashing Pumpkins in the Zeitgest era have announced their first show this side of the Atlantic, headlining Virgin Festival in Toronto on night two (Björk is the draw night one), with The Killers as support. Presale here tomorrow at 10AM. Password: Zeitgeist.
