On the off chance you’re a Perez regular, no doubt you’ve noticed his shift toward pimping artists (and getting ‘em to play his birthday parties). Some of his picks have been solid (Lily Allen, Regina Spektor, Amy Winehouse), but mostly ’cause he discovers ‘em six months after everyone else. And then there’s Mika.
But “the new Weezer”? Perez, you’re incorrigible.

After you read his “reviews” of the music you get the distinct impression that any promotional CD was stuffed with lots and lots of money.
No war. It’s just hilarious that Perez thinks they sound like Weezer.
Perez Hilton deserves every ounce of the flak that he recieves. He’s an arrogant, thieving prick. Why the hell are people listening to Perez Hilton for music recommendations, anyway?
The band itself isn’t bad, but they don’t really sound like Weezer. Anyone who says they sound like Weezer is clearly someone who’s only heard them on the radio two or three times. And it was “Keep Fishin’” or “Beverly Hills.” They sound more Rooney-ish than Weezerish. So, they sound slightly like a band that sounds kind of like Weezer. Uh. Huh.
I usually get depressed when I see a band I like on Perez Hilton, but I will always have a soft, sparkly, disco-ball shaped piece of my heart for Mika.
