One of the commercials that’s been getting steady rotation on network television this month is Cadillac’s spot for the new Escalade, featuring The Album Leaf’s “Always For You.” You guys see it? Black Escalade cruising some picturesque roads, Jimmy LaValle’s cut from last year’s Into The Blue Again setting the aural scene for style, grace, and gas guzzling. Can’t find vid, though, and the Cadillac site doesn’t have it up yet either. But it does have that old spot of Andy Garcia driving his creamy white Escalade to DNTL’s “Last Songs.” And what do these two “Pop” songs have in common? (Aside from being penned by Jimmys.)

in common…both the Album Leaf and Dntel are now on Sub Pop and Jimmy Lavelle played with Strictly Ballroom for a while which was Jimmy Tamborello’s old group.
