Click the pic. You know it to be true. (Thanks for the heads up, Mark!)

Icky Thump is out 7/18 on Warner Bros.

UPDATE: Jack and Meg are a Pearly King and Queen! Thanks for the culture lesson, Andy! Though the Three Amigos jibe still is fun to imagine.

  1. Looks kind of like a stamp from the British Stamp Act up along the top.

  2. if the album is half as awesome as those get-ups, we’ve got a winner on our hands!

  3. Icky peacocky cover.

  4. Jack had to bust up laughing right after this was taken… if the album is half as awesome as these outfits, I’m going to love it!

  5. Aww. looks very cute and country. Extremely Country. I can’t wait til they have a non black, white, and red album cover. You know it’s going to happen one day. A rainbow explosion.

Is that Loretta in black in the back?

I tried to grab the album off the screen. =[

A spot of old(e?) english(e?) culture for you yanks.

clearly Jack and Meg have been living it up cockney-style of late.

  10. They should tour with The Willowz, another example of great music with questionable fashion sense.

  11. This cover is awesome… please don’t let the music suck. Again.

Cute photo! Jack looks a little cranky. What’s with the mysterious black figure in the background?

  13. Dusty Bottoms  |   Posted on Apr 10th, 2007

“Do you guys remember ‘Amigos, Amigos, Amigos’?”

I think the figure in the back is El Guapo.

    Meg White looks so…different?

I can’t say I’m a big fan of the new cover.

  15. That is certainly up there on the all-time list of bizarre album covers.

it almost looks like that woman in the back is a witch? it kinda looks like shes riding something and grabbing it at the front

“That is certainly up there on the all-time list of bizarre album covers”.. How come? It’s not all that weird.. Band dress up nice and sit on logs, have portrait photo taken.. I’m sure it’s been done before a few times.

  18. i say the cover is a salute to ‘hockey night in canada’ …

i am sooooooo excited for this album, they rock!!

  21. “Eeh by gum, ecky thump.”

That’d be Northern UK talk, wouldn’t it?

They probably picked it up from Holly Golightly.

  22. aww they’re both just so darn cute! and hopefully the music will be better than it has been since we last heard from jack and meggy. Shame for the marimbas…in what classic blues song is a marimba the lead instrument?!

    Wots up wiv u lot?
The name is Jacks way of twisting ‘Ecky Thump’, yes the northern UK saying, which he got from his wife, not Meg – his second wife, in the same way that he puts a twist on all their music.
And it’s all in a good way u sad, sad people, even the not-so-great stuff is better than the majority of music that’s around at the moment, and for the past few years while I think about it!
Good on the pair of them – and it only took three weeks to record too!
Bring on more, and more, and more – Jack and Meg are the best thing to happen in music for a long time …

  27. i think jack got the inspiration from the supercalifragilistic… scene from Mary Poppins
