The good news about “3′s & 7′s” is that, unlike the title track, this one actually appears on Era Vulgaris. And it’s even better than was our last Vulgaris listen, with Homme’s trademark guitar squeal riffage, some disparate shifts, and a sleazed-up, grimy groove. P4K says it’s only up for the next 24 hours, so hit the band’s site for a listen.

Era Vulgaris is out 6/12 on Interscope.

The opening riff kind of sounds like Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit”.

bigphill, it sounded like smells like teen spirit meets song 2 to me, but it’s still a good song and I want to hear this album

Hmm. Did anyone ever see eagles of death metal live? They sucked so hard when I walked by them at Coachella last year.

3′s & 7′s is a great song. Josh Homme is just a musical genius. QotSA never fails to deliver anything except greatness. I cant wait to hear the rest of the album. (smashing how can you say EoDM suck live? I’ve seen them twice and they fucking rock)

Saw Eagles of Death Metal last year in Denver. One of the funnest shows I’ve ever been to. Great crowd involvment, and the band sounded great as well. I’d go again in a heartbeat. A bunch of us were lined up for tickets outside the venue and Jesse came out and said hi to everybody in line. He was a really friendly dude. Got to talk to him a bit after the show, and he seemed to be absolutely thrilled to be playing in front of people, and grateful for it at that. No ego, very down to earth, I’ll root for ‘em as long as they’re around.
